Police patrol a residential area of Bognor amid ‘suspicious activity’

POLICE carried out patrols in a residential area following reports of suspicious activity.

Arun Police officers have stepped up their presence in and around Longford Road, Bognor, after reports a man made cold calls to properties.

Police said Neighborhood Policing Team foot patrols have increased to tackle reported suspicious activity.

“If someone knocks on your door claiming to be from a business or charity, always investigate and verify their identity,” a police spokesperson said.

“If you are not satisfied, do not give them any personal information and do not let them into your home.

“Never call any phone number displayed on their ID card. Tell them to wait outside, close the door, and dial the genuine number from the website or phone book.

“If you have any concerns, please contact us via 101 or online: in an emergency, please dial 999.”

Earlier this month, Adur and Worthing Police increased their presence in and around Ferry Road, Shoreham, following reports of concern from members of the public about anti-social behaviour.

Meanwhile, police had been patrolling anti-social behavior ‘hotspots’ in downtown Arundel the previous week.
