Places for People is donating their portable sales and marketing booth in Edinburgh and looking to partner with a local business, charity or community group that needs space to run their business.
The portable cabin is located at Places for People’s The Green in Longstone.
Places for People’s Regional Managing Director for Scotland, Willie Lockhart, explained in more detail: “Our business generated over £ 165million in social value last year across the UK, which is a testament to our commitment to the communities in which we work.
“We have a spacious cabin that can be transformed into an office space, a production unit, a room for a charity or even a playgroup. Applications are now open and we hope that organizations in and around Edinburgh – such as social enterprises, charities or a local volunteer group looking for a space to run their activities – will come forward and enjoy of this portable space.
Similar recent initiatives include providing space for social enterprises at Urban Eden in Edinburgh and the development of East Wick and Sweetwater; the company has also completed a series of DIY SOS-style projects to help transform community centers in cities like Edinburgh and Sheffield.
The group is now accepting applications local groups and businesses who can move the Edinburgh marketing suite to a location of their choice.
The portable unit will need to be moved from its current location in Edinburgh at the new owner’s expense. Places for People will contribute to transportation costs.
Anyone wishing to apply for the portable booth in the sales and marketing suite, which is 17m long by 5m wide and includes a kitchen and toilet, should send an email to [email protected] with its completed application. The unit, once moved to its new location, will need to be connected to services including electricity, water and sewage at the owner’s expense. The deadline for submitting applications is January 10, 2022.
