NIBC a watershed moment in India-Nigeria trade space, says MoS Muraleedharan

Abuja [Nigeria]Aug 22 (ANI): Minister of State for External Affairs, V Muraleedharan, said on Monday that “a watershed moment in the business space has occurred between India and Nigeria with the dawn of Nigeria -India Business Council (NIBC)”, while addressing the inaugural meeting of NIBC in Abuja.
Taking to his Twitter account, the Minister who is on an official visit to Nigeria on August 22-23, said, “Glad to be attending the inaugural meeting of the Nigeria-India Business Council (NIBC) in Abuja, Nigeria. Minister of Industry, HE Otunba Adeniyi, Minister of Energy HE Abubakar Aliyu, Minister of Mines and Steel HE Olamilekan Adegbite, Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Zubairu Dada were present,” Muraleedharan tweeted.
In his remarks, he said that the newly constituted NIBC marked a turning point in the India-Nigeria business space and new momentum is building for renewed business engagement.

The minister mentioned that Nigeria has always been a favorite investment destination for Indian companies. It has been India’s largest trading partner in Africa and a very valuable energy partner.
The MoS urged companies to look at India’s strengths in various futuristic areas such as Fintech, AI, healthcare including vaccine manufacturing, digital and green growth and adapt them to the needs and to Nigeria’s requirements.
The MoS said the establishment of the NIBC is a milestone in business cooperation between the two countries.
“It is visible that a new momentum is building for renewed business engagement. Under the vision and leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the relationship with Africa is reaching new heights,” he added.
Minister Muraleedharan’s visit gives new impetus to relations with Nigeria. Regular visits and engagements with Africa by the MoS Muraleedharan are in the direction of strengthening the relationship between the two countries. (ANI)
