A bear escaped from its cage at Nahargarh Biological Park in Jaipur on Sunday evening. Soon after, forestry officers began a search for the bear.
Initially, they followed his tracks in an attempt to find the animal. Later, they were informed that he had entered a residential area in Jaisinghpura.
The bear was seen taking shelter inside a house under construction at Jyotiba Phule Nagar in Jaisinghpura Khor, after which people informed the forest department.
Forest officers rushed to the scene and began rescue efforts. As it was dark inside the house, it was difficult to spot the bear. However, after more than three hours, Senior Wildlife Veterinarian Dr. Arvind Mathur tranquilized the bear.
