New homes and residential developments made up the bulk of building permits for the town of Brenham for the month of August.
Eight new homes were licensed last month for $1,713,559. The biggest new house permit was issued to Thielemann Construction for $492,700 for a new house in the 2400 block of Oak Hollow Lane. So far this year, 116 new homes have been licensed for $22,157,154.
The month’s biggest permit went to Zoe Murphy Compton, LLC for $700,000 for interior renovations and the addition of a relocated house on land in the 700 block of South Baylor Street.
Other notable permits issued in August were for the demolition of several Blinn College residence halls, including Solons Hall, Memorial Hall and Holleman Hall. The three permits totaled $470,000. The work is entrusted to Albo Construction, LLC.
Thirty-seven permits were taken in August for $3,495,125. As of August 2021, 48 permits have been issued for $15,713,749.
So far through 2022, the city has issued 283 permits for $35,432,097, down from 275 permits for $45,557,949 at this point last year.
