Fire strikes residential neighborhood in Taguig

A fire hit a residential area in Barangay Bagumbayan, Taguig shortly before midnight on Wednesday.

According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) -Taguig, the fire occurred at 409 Severina Subdivision, Bagumbayan on September 15 with the first alarm going off at 11:39 p.m.

Firefighters gave the second alarm at 11:45 p.m. before the fire was brought under control at 12:36 a.m. and finally extinguished at 12:42 a.m.

Investigators identified the owner of the house as Julie Ann Mariano. The fire affected 10 houses with 14 families, or 64 individuals.

According to BFP-Taguig, the cost of damage to the property was around 140,000 P. No one was injured in the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A Facebook post by Barangay Bagumbayan said 21 families consisting of 76 people were affected by the blaze. Nine houses were totally damaged while 12 were partially damaged.

A total of 53 fire trucks responded to the blaze, including 19 from BFP and 34 from volunteer groups and local government units. Three ambulances also responded to the incident.
