Clayton Home Building Group® Strengthens Commitment to Building Sustainable Homes

As Clayton strives to achieve his vision of “developing housing innovations that improve lives and build a better future”, he recognizes the continued importance of embracing more innovative and sustainable building methods as well as provide energy efficient housing.

Each year, the ENERGY STAR® The New Residential Construction program presents the Market Leader Awards to outstanding partners for their contributions to energy efficient construction. In addition, these partners support environmental protection by building or testing an exceptional number of ENERGY STAR systems.® certified houses and apartments, or by sponsoring a local program that has supported these activities during the previous year. Of January 2020 through April 2021, Clayton has built over 20,000 ENERGY STAR® certified homes.

In addition to supporting the ENERGY STAR program® program, Clayton recently hired William Jenkins, Director of Environment and Sustainability for Clayton Home Building Group, to lead its national sustainability initiative.

“Building a better future for our communities and the environment is at the heart of our mission at Clayton,” Jenkins said. “Contribute more to ENERGY STAR® Certified homes on the market is a great achievement for Clayton’s sustainability initiative. It represents our commitment to building a more sustainable future for our customers and our communities. Innovations in energy efficiency help our homes operate more efficiently than comparable homes built to code. This allows our customers to significantly reduce their consumption of energy and natural resources, which translates into less greenhouse gas emissions and less pressure on their respective power grid. “

Kevin clayton, CEO of Clayton, said the ENERGY STAR program® The Market Leader Awards represent a milestone for Clayton as his team members continue to strengthen the company’s commitment to sustainability.

“Thanks to our green building practices and energy efficient features included in our Clayton Built® homes, we are able to embrace sustainable home building, ”Clayton said. “While we are proud of the homes we build, we are also proud of the innovative construction methods and standards that we continue to embrace for the future.
